Delete your Pawmoji account
The Pawmoji app and website share one account. Deleting it can't be undone, and any credits you have left are lost with it.
In the app
- Open the Pawmoji app and sign in.
- Go to Me.
- Tap Delete account and confirm when asked.
On the website
- Sign in to your account on the website.
- Open Settings.
- Choose "I want to delete my account" and type your email address to confirm.
Deletion takes effect immediately: your account, photos and images are removed on the spot, not queued for later.
If you can't sign in
Email privacy@pawmoji.pet from the address you signed up with, with the subject "Delete my account". Once we've confirmed it's you, we'll delete the account within 30 days and reply to let you know.
What is deleted
- The account itself: your email address, your password (we only ever store a one-way hash of it) and every sign-in session.
- Your pet profiles: names, breeds, photos and the description written from the photos.
- Every image and sticker pack you made, and the records of what you generated and exported.
- Your credit balance and credit history, and the consent records you made.
Want to keep some of your work? Before you delete, download the images and sticker packs you want from the Gallery.
What we keep, and for how long
- If you bought credits: a record of each purchase (payment reference, product, credits, amount and date, without your account ID, email address or images) is kept until 10 years after the purchase under tax and accounting law. Our payment provider, Stripe, also keeps payment records under its own legal obligations.
- Reports you sent, and what we decided about them, are kept for 12 months from the report to deal with abuse; after the deletion they no longer carry your account ID or the note you wrote.
- A keyed one-way hash of your email address (not the address itself), kept for 12 months, so that signing up again with the same address in that time doesn't grant the free credits a second time.
- Only if one of your images was escalated to a legal case as possibly illegal (for example suspected child sexual abuse material): the case record (account ID, image ID, reason) and a preserved copy of that image, kept for at least 12 months from when the case was opened, as US law requires. Until that copy is preserved (usually a few minutes), deleting the account is refused.
- Daily database backups are kept for up to 7 days, and server logs, which only hold masked email addresses, for up to 7 days. After that, those copies are gone too.
